Singing sensation Katy Perry has been unveiled as the brand new face of the ghd brand, and has revealed that they will be sponsoring her new California Dreams 2011 tour.

The professional hair styling brand revealed that Katy will be the new face for their professional hair styling series as part of a multi-year sponsorship deal.

To celebrate the launch of their new partnership, Katy has shot an exciting multimedia campaign with internationally renowned photographer David LaChapelle, which will be revealed over the coming months.

Paul Stoneham, of ghd, said that Katy was the perfect celebrity to represent the ghd brand, saying: “Her unique, ever changing looks are the envy of style devotees around the world. Katy completely embodies ghd’s spirit of female transformation and empowerment, as she is recognised as a cutting edge style icon”.

Meanwhile, Katy added that she is thrilled to be working with the famous ghd brand, saying: “I’m so excited to be working with ghd, especially using their tools on my California Dreams Tour to get me stage ready. ghd products have a reputation of being the best products in the biz, and I like being associated with that.

ghd will be sponsoring Katy’s latest tour – California Dreams – and also plan to involve their professional hairstyle ambassadors in a wide range of concerts and music events around the world.

With the new years celebrations behind them, the who’s who of the celebrity world have been out in full force thus far in January, showing the public what is a must have this year, and what you can do without in 2010.

Elle Mcpherson is a lady who loves an expensive handbag, which is why it was no surprise to find her showing off Louis Vuitton’s newest leather messenger bag, worth more than four thousand US dollars.

Cat Deeley has been spotted in London flaunting her new Pauric Sweeney snakeskin bag, one of the Irish designers new spring collection, worth a reported three thousand dollars.

Australian Kylie Minogue has been walking around in a rich pair of Jonathan Kelsey shoes. The new cage pair is hot off the spring catwalk collection.

One of the less attractive looks was by Alice Temperley who was spotted sporting a tiger print scarf from the diffusion label.

And then there were a few who wore something for a bit of extra coin in their back pocket.

Jennifer Connelly is believed to have been one of these, when she was dressed head to toe in delicious spring/summer 2010 Balenciaga.

It was pretty clear she was gifted pieces from the collection because designer Nicolas Ghesquière wants her to be seen in it.

The former Spice Girl has so far enjoyed considerable success in the fashion industry, with many celebrities already spotted wearing items from her VB collection.

Some of the big names to have donned the threads include, English media personality Carol Vorderman and Hollywood actor/singer Jennifer Lopez.

The wife of soccer superstar Beckham is now keen to add shoes and handbags to her list of design achievements, and further enhance her fashion empire.

It has become a norm to see Beckham sport some of the world’s finest high heels and lavish handbags, however it appears she has finally had enough of advertising for her rivals, and now has her heart set on creating her own favourites.

A friend of Beckham spoke out this week about the former spice girls motives for the label expansion.

“Victoria is tired of promoting other brands. If she wears Christian Louboutin or Hermes people go and buy it,” she said

“She thought, ‘Why can’t I do this with my own line?’ Her VB collection has gone down a storm across the celebrity world. If this is repeated with her line of shoes, the range would be worth an absolute fortune.”

With the business set to expand, rumour has already circled that Beck’s is planning on building a design workshop for his wife at their Hertfordshire home to allow for the growth.

The Armani pants have flown off shelves thanks, in no small measure, to the Becks Factor. So now Goldenballs is launching his own range of men’s underwear. 

His deal with Italian fashion house Armani ends in January and Real Madrid winker Cristiano Ronaldo, who is known to love parading in ultra-tight shorts (remember those Baywatch holiday shots?!) is expected to take over David’s gig in the New Year.
Becks’ briefs will then hit shops later in 2010.

A source says: “David enjoyed modelling for Armani immensely. It has been a highly rewarding time. But now he wants to branch out on his own. The pants he modelled became a runaway success. Turnover for Armani men’s kecks more than TREBLED, from about £10million a year to £32million, and now David wants to cash in on the effect he has had. His range will be one of high-quality, desirable items, although it’s unlikely most people will look as good as David in them.”

Ex-Manchester United ace Becks struck a deal said to be worth £10million when he teamed up with Armani in December 2007.

But it was his ad campaign for the firm’s 2008 range which sent blokes’ egos crashing and women’s pulses soaring.

He was pictured wearing white briefs on Santa Monica beach in California. And San Francisco was brought to a standstill when a five-storey advert was draped over the city’s famous Macy’s department store.

Becks faced accusations that computer trickery had been employed to bolster his midfield – but that has always been denied.

Becks has a smart business brain and also holds multi-million-pound ad deals with mobile phone firm Motorola and sportswear giant Adidas.

Skinner made a crop circle impression of his face on a field near the Glastonbury Festival site. In the large image he is sporting the new headphones in the SONY range, the same ones he wore on stage during his Glastonbury gig.
