Controversial Australian media personality Axle Whitehead has found himself in hot water yet again, this time literally!
The singer/actor/presenter was rushed to hospital this week after he suffered an accident while playing around with his beloved 1977 Corvette Stingray.
Whitehead reportedly tried to fix the overheating radiator and was sprayed in the face and body by scalding water when he opened the cooling systems cap.
He is believed to have suffered scalds to his arm, body, shoulder and part of his chest.
The reigning Cleo Bachelor of the Year was taken by a close friend to the Epworth Hospital in the inner Melbourne suburb of Richmond.
A spokesperson for Channel Seven confirmed the accident occurred.
“A mate were tinkering with his car on Friday and he has burnt his right hand,” she said.
“He has been having it treated at the Epworth Hospital.”
The Home and Away pin up boy, and host of the new series Worlds Strictest Parents has always has a love for classic cars, especially his Corvette which he drive down from Sydney to Melbourne after his new years break up with family and friends.
“I was looking at a Mustang probably about two or three years ago,” he said.
“But I thought if I’m going to get a muscle car I should do it properly and get the king of muscle cars. They are, in my mind, one of the sexiest looking cars.
“I’ve fallen in love with Stingrays, and any of those models from ’70 to ’77 have got me hook, line and sinker.”
