Footloose star Kevin Bacon didn’t have enough oomph to chase down the thief who stole his blackberry at a New York City subway station, The Post reports. Sources say that Bacon chased the thief for a small distance before they took off with his cell at around 10.50am.

Bacon’s spokesman could not confirm who took the BlackBerry and what celebrity numbers Bacon had stored in it. However, it is feared that important numbers like Bacon’s wife Kyra Sedgwick will now be available to the mugger and could eb released to the public.

New York City transit officials have said that no train personal were notified of the crime, although it was reported Bacon called the Police after the thief took off.

NYPD have made no comment on the incident and could not confirm a report had been filed.
