In a time where celebrities are getting caught cheating on their wives, partners and girlfriends, it is hard to think that anything less than that would end up in a split.
Enter Andy Murray.
The British tennis player has officially been dumped by his girlfriend for, get this, spending too much time playing video games!
Now, video game additions have been known in their past for causing break ups and leaving individuals socially inept at times, but not many people would have thought the rules would apply to world class tennis players.
The world number four men’s player now has the unwanted tag of being the first tennis star to be publicly dumped for an addiction to gaming.
His former girlfriend, pin up girl Kim Sears, is believed to have made the split with the British star after he spend on average a reported seven hours a day playing video games.
Sources close to Sears said one cause of the split was Murray’s love of shooting games.
“Long hours playing video tennis and PlayStation 3 games like the Call of Duty sequel,” a close source revealed.
“He would spend all his time glued to them. In the end she just got fed up with it. Kim wanted more out of the relationship.”
The interesting part of this whole saga is how the hell Murray managed to fit in the many training hours needed to excel in tennis while being able to maintain his gaming obsession?
Well, let’s just see how he goes when he comes to Melbourne next month!
