US rapper Dizzee Rascal kick started his Oceania tour in controversial fashion after he leapt into the crowd and tried to grab an audience member during a performance in Brisbane.

Rascal is one of the headlining acts in this years Bid Day Out music festival, which tours all the major cities in Australia and New Zealand.

It was reported that a fan threw a deodorant stick at the famous rapper which ended up hitting him on the head.

Rascal was immediately fuelled with rage, halted the set immediately, and rushed towards the crowd to confront the culprit.

According to close sources, all the rapper knew was that the offender had blonde hair and was near the front row.

In a desperate attempt to seek revenge Rascal tried jumping into the mosh pit with the crowd helping out their beloved performer by pushing the deodorant-thrower closer towards the barrier.

Luckily, security guards and tour promoters were quick to restrain Dizzee Rascal and prevent him from doing anything silly.

Despite his best attempts, the rapper was held back, before eventually settling down and returning to the stage.

The video footage of the aftermath shows the crowd getting excited by the proceedings and chanting, “Dizzee, Dizzee, Dizzee, Dizzee”.

The Big Day Out festival continues this week with shows in Sydney, and then heads to Melbourne and Adelaide next week.

Tickets for the event sold out within the first few days.
