The Hey Dad sex scandal intensified today with news the alleged victim, Sarah Monahan is set to fly from the US back home to Australia to make an official complaint to police.
The actress has made numerous complaints on magazines and on TV abut sexual abuse on the set of the 80s and 90s smash hit sitcom.
While she never revealed names, it was highly implied the man behind the abuse was star Robert Hughes, who played the role of the single architect ‘Dad’ in the series.
Hughes, who now lives in Singapore, immediately denied allegations when confronted by the media and has since organized his legal team to handle the case.
Last Night Monahan, who now lives in America, told Channel Nine she intends on making an official complaint, after police said their was nothing they could do until one had been formally made.
“As soon as people said ‘you need to go to the police’ I was at the airport within three hours and caught the first flight out,” Monahan said.
“We’re headed straight to the police.”
New South Wales police are now on standby and ready to investigate the case.
Hughes on the other hand, has questioned why the investigation is going ahead, claiming he had nothing to do with the claims.
“I’m absolutely, totally shocked at the allegations and I deny, absolutely deny everything,” he said.
“I’m absolutely puzzled as to why this is being said now.”
